…Agency Alleges Sabotage
Rivers State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC; has confirmed that fire gutted its dumpsite in Iriebe, Obio Akpor Local Government Area.
The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mr. Ayodeji Olufemi who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the fire incident was caused by alleged sabotage.
He alleged that some saboteurs set the facility on ablaze.
The spokesperson said the command is yet to ascertain the level of damage done, but men of the federal fire service were on ground to bring the situation under control.
An eyewitness disclosed that they heard large explosion before the fire engulfed the parked vehicles in the yard.
At least 30 seized trucks loaded with products suspected to be PMS were destroyed by the fire.
