Some natives of Obele in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State have deserted the community following reports of fresh Killings.
We learnt that suspected cultists had ambushed some members of disbanded OSPAC (vigilance group) in Obele when they(cultists) shot dead one Nyenke aka Awuse dead .
The Rumuji Police Division in charge of the jurisdiction reportedly came hours after the incident and evacuated the corpse of the killed vigilante.
Community sources informed our reporter that some natives have deserted the community as at last Monday for fear of reprisal and counter attacks.
When contacted, the acting spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, DSP Grace Iringe Ikoko told our reporter she would call back but yet to get back to our reporter as at press time.
