As several youth bodies, stakeholders and groups express displeasure over the malicious and defamatory Statement made by the Arewa Youths during their press Conference, against the Niger Delta ex freedom fighter, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, accusing him of being responsible for the insecurity in the Niger Delta Waterways, a Niger Delta Rights Activist and Peace Advocate, Senior Comrade Daniel Pere Ezekiel, has berated the Northern Youth Body for the unholy statement against the personality and character of the Ijaw Leader, stating that this action is capable of causing tension not just in the Niger Delta region, but the entire Country, which he said will be detrimental to the country.

The Rights Activist expressed his displeasure via a press release signed by him, and was made available to Newsmen in the early hours of today, the 8th April, 2022. Of which a copy was sent to the News Desk of Coastal Times Newspaper. Where he asserted that Tompolo has been the sole reason for the relative Peace and Security enjoyed in the Niger Delta region for the past years. Stating that he has singlehandedly cubbed criminalities in the Waterways, which has provided a conducive environment for both Domestic, National and International Oil Companies to operate successfully.

Daniel Ezekiel further revealed that Tompolo’s desire to ensure peace and security in the Niger Delta Region is one that cannot be overemphasised, as his impact and contribution to sustaining the peace and security in the region is also felt by the Nigerian Navy and the Federal Government.

He charged the Arewa Youths to without delay, render an unreserved apology to the Ex-Freedom Fighter, stating that the Ijaws will not tolerate such attack from anyone on any Ijaw Son and Daughter, particularly Tompolo.

“Legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti in one of his songs said that trouble sleep yanga go wake am ! Wetin you dey find wahala ! You dey find wahala ! You go get am ooo.

The above song came into my mind when l came across a very cantercorous , inciting and misleading concortion called press conference organized by Ayewa youths”.

“Their assault on my father, brother and friend, High chief Government Ekpemupolo a.k.a Tompolo is not just uncalled for ,but an affront to Niger Delta region ,whom he has been devoting his time ,energy , influence and resources day and night in making sure peace which is a key ingredient of development find it root here”.

“Crisis Merchants and agents provocateurs are at it again ,just the way they misled president muhamdu Buhari when he came into power in 2015 into the need to arrest ,prosecute and killed the inoccent man over several baseless petitions that were born out of envy and hatred”.

“This grandiose scheme against Tompolo perfected by his own kinsmen, did not only lead to break down of law and other in the region, Nigeria darely paid for it with recession hitting the nation”.

“The hulabbaloo of the crisis led to my humble self being detained for close to 2 years because as an activist, l made it known to the whole world through media space that Tompolo is not what some mischievous elements projected him to look like before Mr. President and generality of Nigerians”.

Is there anybody in Nigeria that is more competent, capable and capacity filled than Tompolo to handle pipeline job in Niger Delta region?, The answer is that nobody come close to him.

Upon mirage of problems facing the Northern part , is it Tompolo matter that should be of critical concern to Arewa youths ?. I see this press conference as total misplaced of priority, WALAHI. I wants to use this medium to urge my fellow youths in the North use this energy in attacking Tompolo to call out their leaders to do the needful in ending blood bath in their domain.

“Finally , l appeal to Mr. President not to listen to these charlatans, who are performing what l call voice of Easu ,hands of Jacob antics to truncate the peace pervading the length and breath of Niger Delta region courtesy of Tomoplo tireless efforts”.
