Allegations Of Harassment: Public Awaits Panel Report Two Months After

The public is still awaiting the report of panel investigation into allegations of misconduct, harassment and exploitation of female student levelled against a male lecturer in the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic, Rumuola, Rivers State two months after the date it mandated the panel to submit its report.

The institution had on January 7, 2022 in a press release by Chris A. Woke, the registrar suspended a male lecturer, Zoe Tamonutonye Solomon for three months and set up a panel with time frame of January 10, to February 9, 2022 to submit its report.

However, two months after the time frame the institution is yet to make the report of the panel investigation public.

When our reporter contacted the registrar of the institution, Chris A. Woke via text message he said “Management will make known when to do so”.

Recall that Mr Solomon had effected the arrest of the female student Blessing Audu on December 29, 2022 on allegation that she stole his money and some of his personal belongings, an allegation the female student denied and accused the lecturer of intimidating and effecting her arrest because she turned down his alleged marriage proposal.

The lecturer, Mr Solomon also denied making marriage proposal to the female student while insisting that she allegedly stole his money and was in possession of his property.

The female student was released from Sani Abacha Divisional Police headquarters after spending two days in custody following intervention of the Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday on the matter who interviewed both parties.
