Akwa Ibom Guber Aspirants Commend PDP South-South Screening Committee
Governorship aspirants in Akwa Ibom State for the 2023 general elections have commended the South-South Screening Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) headed by the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, for ensuring that the screening exercise was free and fair.
Hon. Ide Owodiong Idemeko lauded the party for the screening exercise. He expressed optimism and confidence that he will be cleared for the election.
The governorship hopeful said he is relying on his ideas and vision to win the delegates’ votes as their number one choice.
He called on the people of Akwa Ibom to be ready for a new dawn because it will no longer going to be business as usual under that his administration which will focus on real dividends of democracy.
Another governorship aspirant, Hon. Akpan Okon, also described the screening process as very impressive.
“I believe that power belongs to God and God has given unto me I am the next governor of Akwa Ibom State,” he declared.
As a former Economic Development Commissioner and Commissioner of Finance, he promised to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his administration if given the opportunity to serve.
Another contender, Sir Ini Ama, also commended the party for the organization of the screening exercise ranging from the composition of the committee, which he described as a committee made up of competent leaders.
He said PDP as a party has a manifesto and that any loyal member of the party ought to tap from that manisfesto, noting that the Peoples Democratic Party is bent on a rescue mission for Nigeria. “We are at the verge of collapse and all of us must have our heart set on the rescue mission,” he said.
