I Lost A Rare Gem, Says Adonye Diri

…As Late Elder Brother Goes Home, Saturday

 

The member representing Opobo/Nkoro Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Adonye Kelly Diri says he is heartbroken over the demise of his elder brother, Alabo (Sir) Noble Francis Diri (Diri Tolofari V), who died on September 7, 2020 at the age of 66 after a brief illness and would be committed to mother earth on Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Opobo Town.

The tearful lawmaker who is House Committee Chairman on Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), described his late brother as a role model with penchant of passing his intrinsic values to the younger generation.

“He was highly disciplined, transparent and hardworking.  As a Christian, he preaches that hard work and faith are like inseparable twins which cannot do without the other.  He will remain in my heart forever”, he said.

The lawmaker who further extoled the virtues of the elder Diri, said he was an accomplished businessman, community leader and philanthropist during his life time, and however drew solace on the fact that through his exemplary life, he left his footprints on marble.

The burial statement which was signed by Amaopusenibo Ishmael D. Diri on behalf of Seniapu Council of Tolofari Omu-Aru Wari Kalaibiama Town, said burial activities would commence on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 with a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs at the Unity Hall of Port Harcourt Club, Old GRA, Port Harcourt.

On Saturday, January 23, 2021, the body of the man, a magnate in the chemical distributive industry, would lie in state at the Diri Tolofari gate, Kalaibiama and inspected by the Amanyanabo and the Opobo Alapus.

The statement added that a Day Vigil would also hold at Diri Tolofari Compound, Kalaibiama by 10am with a funeral service slated by 11am at St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Kalaibiama Town, Opobo.

The body of the sexagenarian would be committed to mother earth thereafter with a reception at the Community Primary School Field, Kalaibiama Town, Opobo.
