Shaggy Beats Awoala To Clinch APC ASALGA Constituency II Ticket

Hon. Amb. Okorinama West popularly known as Shaggy has been declared winner in the just concluded All Progressives Congress primary election for the Rivers State House of Assembly seat, ASALGA Constituency II.

In a keenly contested election held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Buguma in Asari-Toru Local Government Area, Okorinama polled 15 votes to defeat his only opponent, Hon. Awoala Wokoma who scored 7 votes.

The returning officer, Ibiso Mirilla who announced the result said a total of 24 delegates voted and two abstented.

 Mr. Mirilla described the election as peaceful, free and fair and commended aspirants and delegates for displaying maturity and creating a friendly atmosphere.

The winner of the primary, Hon. West in his speech, expressed appreciation to God for giving him victory and thanked the delegates and his mammoth supporters for the immense sacrifice and support given to him in ensuring that he came out victorious at the primary.

He promised to be resolute, effective, benevolent and accessible as usual if they continue to give him the needed support at the forthcoming general elections.

Reacting to the victory of Hon. Shaggy, one of the ardent supporters, Hon. Akiye Princewill congratulated Shaggy for emerging victorious at the election, describing his victory as well deserved, saying the victory did not come as a surprise to him based on the philanthropic gestures of Shaggy.

The Director General of Shaggy Solidarity Movement, Comrade Tekena Harry who also doubles as the Special Assistant to Shaggy on politics said as a forum, they were very optimistic that Shaggy would win any election because he has the capacity to do so.

He said the antecedents of Hon. Shaggy were the motivational factor that prompted them to purchase the nomination form for him and that they are very optimistic that he would win the general election with the help of all and sundry.

Comrade Harry urged Shaggy to continue to do his good works because everyone in ASALGA is ever ready to vote him at the poll.
