ONOLGA:  Hon. Enyiada Cookey-Gam Swears In Council Secretary

The Executive Chairman of Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area, Rt. Hon Enyiada Cookey-Gam on Tuesday, sworn in the Secretary of Council Alabo-elect (Engr). Edward Namiesimagha to officially resume duty.

During the swearing-in, which was administered by the Council Legal Adviser, Barr. (Mrs.) Queendarling C. Okwere, the Council boss charged the Secretary of Council to be proactive and diligent in his services and also see his office as an avenue to serve humanity and the good people of Opobo/Nkoro LGA.

He said: “Today’s occasion is a very significant mile-stone in this administration.

It marks the beginning of administrative duties and the staffing of an important office for policy implementation and coordination of programs for the actualization of the six (6) points agenda of this administration.

It shows we are here to kick start our transformation agenda for the LGA”.

The Chairman said he had no doubt that Alabo-Elect Edward Namiesimagha asa seasoned politician, successful engineer, and a very resourceful personality had the capacity to discharge his duties of a Council Secretary.

“The task of a Council Secretary is demanding. For you to be successful, you must be dedicated, minimize politics at this time, and eschew ethnocentric bias. Above all, you must show uncommon commitment to contributing your quota to the achievement of the six (6) points agenda of this administration, and the overall development of the LGA.

“I want to assure you that we have a supportive team of staff, and they are always ready to support you”, he said, while congratulating and wishing him success.

In his response, Engr. Namiesimagha promised to discharge his duties with utmost respect and humble manner to every issues that is within his jurisdiction.

The event was attended by all principal officers of the Council was a huge success.
