Thanksgiving Is For A Purpose – Pastor

As Christian faithful gathered for the end of the month thanksgiving at Rhema Chapel International Churches Port Harcourt, Minister-in-Charge of the church, Pastor Abiola Ajadi as reminded congregation that there is a purpose for thanksgiving to God regardless of your state in life.

He stated this during the just concluded October Thanksgiving Service of the ministry in Rumuola, Port Harcourt.

In his sermon titled, “Let Us Give Thanks,” the Man of God drew the texts of his message from the Book of Ephesians 5:20 which emphasized giving thanks always.

Pastor Ajadi stressed that God requires thanksgiving from his children, as he quoted from 1 Thessalonians 5:18, saying no matter the condition, you need to see thins and people around you and appreciate God for your life.

He observed that people who are thoughtful are consistent in thanking God because they could appreciate better. According to him, Hanna in the Scripture looked around her and was provoked and she thought and gave thanks.

The clergy also charged the congregation to give themselves in praise and worship, apart from coming to appreciate God with their substances.

Pastor Ajadi encouraged Christians to make it a daily habit to appreciate their maker for different things they have enjoyed.

The October thanksgiving paved the way for some members of the congregation to share testimonies concerning the faithfulness of God for their lives. Those who testified how job opportunities came their way, others spoke of healing miracles, deliverance from evil, among others.

The Minister-in Charge also took time out to bless the congregation with prophetic utterance ahead of the new week, while celebrants of the month were prayed for.

Some of the features of the thanksgiving include drama presentation on thanksgiving, choir ministration and children taking turns to explain the need for thanksgiving, quoting from the Bible for references.
