APC Secretary Quits Party, Cites Personal Reasons
The Secretary of the All Progressives Party (APC) in Ward 17, Ndashi, Etche Local Government Area, Comrade Friday Elemuwa, has resigned from the party, citing personal reasons.
Elemuwa who tendered his resignation on Friday, addressed to Ward Chairman, Hon. Bethel Chigbu, said it gave him great pleasure to have been a strong member of the party for a period of five years.
“I’m very grateful for the privilege given to me to serve as the Secretary of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ward 17, Etche, Rivers State.
Let me use this medium to appreciate the ladership of the APC in Ward 17 (Ndashi). And I specially thank my boss, Hon. Engr. Obinna Agubolom (who just resigned from the party) for the opportunities given to me during my stay in the party”, Elemuwa said.
Although the former party Secretary has quit the APC, he however assured that the good relationship he enjoyed with members of the party would continue to exist between them.
The exit of Comrade Elemuwa from the APC is yet another big blow on the party, especially in Etche Local Government, following the mass exodus that continues to hit the party.
National Network quotes an anonymous political watcher who observed that he was losing count of APC’s membership defections in virtually all the wards in the state in recent times, noting that a week hardly passes without the news of members leaving the party.
The source called on the APC to look inwards and put its house in order, adding that the 2023 general election in the state would lose its spark without the APC.
