A businessman, High Chief Ogonor Ukabuduzhimkpa has been installed Eze Ogumagu II of Igbu Upata Kingdom, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The installation ceremony which was performed by HM, King Felix Enene Otuwarikpo, Eze Igbu Upata III of Upata Kingdom took place on Saturday August 20, 2022 as part of activities that marked the commissioning of the Upata Kingdom central palace.
King Otuwarikpo charged the celebrant and others to always be supportive of the peace, unity and development of Upata Kingdom, saying the new feather added to the Eze Ogumagu II should be seen as an incentive to enable him do more. He equally advised the followers to cooperate and support Eze Ogumagu II to succeed.
The elder brother of the celebrant, Chief Eze Ogoner said they were not surprised over the recognition because his brother has always been a man of the people and assured him of the family support at all times to succeed in the onerous task ahead.
He advised his sibling to always put God first in all his dealings and ensure that he carries everyone along in the scheme of things as usual.
Eze Ogumagu II, in his response, thanked the monarch and his Council of Chiefs for finding him worthy for the exalted position and assured to uphold the sanctity of his office and will not betray the confidence reposed in him.
“If only every other King could borrow a leaf from HM, King Otuwarikpo, the world would be a better place for humanity”, he enthused.
The Eze Ogumagu II of Igbu Upata Kingdom appealed for the support of all to enable him succeed because leadership, he said, is a collective responsibility and promised to be open to advice and prayed for the wisdom of Solomon to succeed.
