Chairman of the event’s Planning Committee, Mr. Obinna Uzoma said the entire community are already in jubilant mood as expectations soar ahead of the D-Day.

The Lagos-based businessman who spoke to journalists in Amuzi recently after his committee was formally inaugurated by the National Chairman of Amuzi Progressives Union ((APU), Mr. Obinna Otuonye, said the ceremony is expected, once again, to bring together her illustrious sons and daughters, many of whom are in the diaspora.

He stated that the Committee has reached out to these distinguished men and women, which includes the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu, adding that they have all  expressed their readiness to honour the historic event.

“It will be red-carpet treatment for our people from all walks of life. This event comes only once in a year, and every Amuzi son and daughter, young and old, wait in anticipation to savour the moment.

“At the committee level, we are doing our best to organize a very successful celebration. It’s going to be daunting, no doubt, but we are equal to the task. Amuzi is blessed with the big and mighty, so there’s no shaking at all”, he declared.

Mr. Uzoma disclosed that innovations have been brought to spice the Day, one of which would be stage performances by the reinvigorated Nwanyi Maradiya and Egwu Abu Cultural Groups.

According to him, the Amuzi women singing and dance group, as well as their men counterpart are landmarks for which Amuzi Community is known and revered in Isu land and beyond.

The Planning Committee Chairman, while once more extending invitations to all sons, daughters, in-laws, friends, well wishers and relatives, appealed to good spirited members of the community to support the Committee through cash and material donations towards successful planning and execution of the Amuzi Day Celebration.
