Elikpokwu-Odu Community in Rukpokwu Town has inaugurated a new Community Development Council (ECDC) to take charge of affairs in the community.
The new officers, namely; Teddy Iyke Elijah- Chairman, Chukwuma Ordu- Vice Chairman, Christian Mgbakiri- General Secretary, Emeka Worlu- Assistant secretary, Rex Chinda- Treasurer, Emenike Amadi- Financial Secretary, Chima Wosu- PRO and Chimzi Opara- Provost 1 were sworn-in on the 18th of October, 2022 at Obiri Achor Owhondah by Dr. C. N. Walter former Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works, Rivers State.
Introducing the new ECDC Executive Officers to journalists on Monday November 7 after a crucial meeting, the Acting Paramount Ruler of Elikpokwu-Odu Community, Chief Achinike Mmecha JP, said they were inaugurated to take charge of affairs of the community for the next 3, or 4 years. He said they would take care of all necessary matters that concerned Elikpokwu-Odu both within and outside the community. He prayed God to give them the wisdom to work for peace and development of the people, stressing that at the end of their tenure the community would have cause to thank God for using them to institute development and progress for all.
Responding, the new CDC Chairman, Comrade Teddy Iyke Elijah, thanked the Elders and Chiefs, particularly the Acting Paramount Ruler of Elikpokwu-Odu Community, Chief Achinike Mmecha for finding him worthy to lead the Executive. He also gave special thanks to Dr. C. N. Walter former Permanent Secretary Ministry of Works Rivers State.
He assured the leaders that he and his Executive would do their best to settle any problems that might arise in the community and prayed for God’s wisdom to lead the community successfully.
The Youth President of Elikpokwu-Odu Community, Comrade Amaechi Godspower prayed God to give the new ECDC executive the grace to lead the community forward.
