Accord Guber Campaign Council, New Dawn In Rivers – Onyekwere
The Chairman of Accord in Rivers State, Nnanna Onyekwere has described the constitution of the party’s governorship campaign council as the beginning of a new dawn in the state.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Council at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, Onyekwere charged the members to ensure their candidate, Chief Dumo Lulu-Briggs is delivered in the 2023 general election in the state.
“Today’s event is the beginning of a new dawn in Rivers State, a new Rivers State where the people of the state will be put first. As the Bible would put it, many are called but few are chosen. I consider you the lucky lots to be chosen to be part of this history-making event.
“It is not Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs that called you, it is the people of Rivers State that called you to advise, guide and lead the campaign, that come May 29,2023 the man of the moment shall be sworn in as the Governor of Rivers State.
“Yours is a simple job – to advise, guide and make sure that the will of people of Rivers state come to pass come, May 2023”.
Responding on behalf of members of the Campaign Council, Professor O.N Nyenke said: “I am standing here on behalf of all of us who are members of the Council who were inaugurated today. Let me inform you that the Chairman would have been here but he suddenly developed health challenges and could not arrive here in time.
“The meaning of Dumo is light of God, and today all of us want the light of God in Rivers State. Chief Lulu Briggs has physically represented the light of God. We are making progress in the first place to choose as our leader to the Government house, Chief Lulu Briggs who is the light of God.
“The name Dumo is not associated with corruption and bribery. A Rivers man who has been patient all along. He did not carry arms in his quest to become Governor.
“On behalf of my council members we accept the honorable appointment to work with this our Governor to become May 29, 2023”.
Professor Nyenke assured that the campaign Council will take their campaign to all the nooks and crannies of the state to deliver the Accord guber candidate in the Governorship election.
Earlier, the Director General of the Campaign Council, Iyk oji disclosed that the party suspended all campaign activities to attend to and bring succour to victims of flood.
Meanwhile, Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs, the Governorship candidate of Accord in an interview with newsmen promised to run an all inclusive Government if elected.
The Accord Guber candidate said he will run a government that does not discriminate between the rich and the poor as all citizens, irrespective of their status will have equal access to education, health care etc.
The Accord Governorship candidate also disclosed that Accord-led government will aggressively grow the economy of the state to ensure it gets to its desired height .
He noted that Accord Government will invest massively in agriculture and tourism to expand the economy of the state.
He assured Rivers people that he would keep to his campaign promises if elected the Governor of the state.
Professor Allwell Muzan was appointed Chairman of the Campaign Council while Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs is the Alternate Chairman.
Highpoint of the event was decamping of party executives of Action Alliance to Accord who pledged to work for the success of Chief Dumo Lulu Briggs and Accord in general.
