Rivers PDP Chairman Sues For Team Work

The Chairman of the Rivers State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ambassador Desmond Akawor has called for team work, unity and continued prayers from members of the party for the success of the task ahead.

Ambassador Akawor made the call on Thursday 5th January, 2023 while addressing participants at the first 2023 edition of “One Hour With Jesus”, ‘ a bi-weekly Praise and worship Session organized by the PDP Rivers State chapter held at the Party Secretariat, in Port Harcourt.

The State PDP Chairman who noted that through prayers God has been sustaining the party and it’s leader, maintained that whatever’ is committed into God’s hands is safe.

“And to our leader, the Governor of the State, His Excellency Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, our prayers are always with him  It is here we pray and raise his hands up. This is why if you hear his voice and follow him, you run into trouble, because he is not alone, he has people behind him and he is sitting on the rock. We want to thank God for what he has done for us. He has sustained us and as we are going into the battle, we are sure of victory because we are working with a God that never lost any battle “, Ambassador Akawor stated.

He maintained that while other political parties have stores where they keep guns PDP has God and not guns.

“PDP is a Party with God and not a party with guns. I hear in some parties there is a section in their stores that is meant for armament but for us here we do not have any of such. Every Monday and Thursday we converge here to seek God’s presence and he has been answering our prayers,” he stressed.

The State PDP Chairman while sueing for consistency, patience with party leaders and steadfastness among party followers, stressed that his administration would ensure that the one hundred percent PDP he inherited at both state and local government levels from his predecessor is maintained .

Describing the Party”s Governorship candidate, Sir Siminialayi Fubara and the Deputy, Prof Ngozi Odu as both technocrats who can be reached, Ambassador Akawor thanked God for bringing them on board.

He thanked the Rivers State Head of Service, Mr Rufus Godwin’s for coming to deliver God’s message and the PDP Deputy Governorship candidate Prof Ngozi Odu who represented the Governorship candidate for her presence at the event.

Earlier, in his sermon the Head of Service, Rivers State, Rufus Godwins admonished politicians to shun gossips, especially about their leaders.

Taking his text from Exodus chapter 17 verses 8 to 16, Rufus Godwins said God frowned at the act of gossip, explaining that Miriam, Moses sister was struct with leprosy because of gossips.

Mr Godwin’s enjoins party faithful to be committed to the party and ,always look up to their leaders for direction.

While describing the PDP as a strange party with a strange leadership,the man of God observed that while other political parties look for guns, the PDP look for God, a strategy he said is responsible for the many successes the party has recorded over the years.

He thanked the State PDP Chairman, Ambassador Desmond Akawor and members of his Executive council for the choice of God instead of guns and the things of the flesh.

The first edition of “One Hour With Jesus” for the year 2023 attracted the PDP Deputy Governorship candidate, Prof/Mrs Ngozi Odu PDP Deputy Chairman, Hon Chukwuemeka Aaron, Secretary of the party, Dr Benibo George, some chairmen of Local government councils in the state, Local government party chairmen, members of the State PDP Ecco and other stalwarts and party faithful.
