SCIID Takes Over Case Of Alleged Killing Of Man, 29, By Omademe OSPAC
The State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt has taken over the case of alleged killing of Godspower Dimkpa by local vigilante group in Omademe community, IKwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Luggard Dimkpa elder brother to the deceased confirmed the development to our reporter. He said both the case file and three arrested suspects linked to the killing of his younger brother were transferred to SCIID last Friday
Mr Luggard had in an interview with our reporter alleged that the OSPAC personnel Killed his brother after collecting N25,000 ‘bail money’.
The alleged killing of Godspower Dimkpa by OSPAC cames barely 48 hours after Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon reiterated the ban on use of fire arms and detention of suspects by vigilantes in the state.
Mr Luggard further disclosed that his brother 29, and father of two children was ambushed and shot dead by Omademe OSPAC members on his way have after he was released from OSPAC cell.
The deceased was reported have a misunderstanding with his tenant that led to his arrest, detention but was later released, and kill on his way home.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko confirmed the incident. She said the deceased was rushed to the hospital where he later died.
SP Koko also disclosed that the OSPAC members have been arrested and investigation is ongoing.
