The Rivers State Police command says it has begun manhunt for the abductors of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) said to be a Chieftain of a particular Political party in Rivers State.
The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe Koko in an interview with our reporter disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Effiong Okon has ordered for immediate manhunt of the perpetrators and rescue of the SAN.
SP Koko stated that the aide of the abductee was shot dead while two Police Officers were injured in the process.
An eyewitness in earlier interview disclosed that the Police Officers sustained different degrees of injuries when they were chasing suspected Kidnappers who abducted the man around Obiri Ikwerre axis of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the State Monday afternoon.
The Eyewitness account disclosed that the vehicle of the Police summersaulted after the kidnappers they were chasing opened fire on them which resulted in loss of control by driver of the patrol van.
The eyewitness stated that the Kidnappers fled the scene with their abductee while another Police patrol van came to the scene and conveyed the injured officers and the man shot dead to an undisclosed hospital.
