A Federal High Court in Port-Harcourt on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 held that Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Dekor remains the undisputed candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency ahead of 2023 elections.
This led to the striking out of a suit brought by an aspirant of the PDP for Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency, Legborsi Yamabana, against the Peoples Democratic Party and candidate of the federal constituency.
Justice Phoebe Ajuwah in her judgement said that Yamabana lacked the locus standi to approach the court having not participated in the primaries for Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency.
The judge said that the plaintiff was not able to prove his case of unlawful exclusion and therefore struck out the case.
