Port Harcourt Magistrate Court Remands Gateman Over Murder Of Former Boss
A magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded one John Danjuma for alleged murder of one Boma Amabomu Jumbo, former University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) Director of Administration in Rivers state.
The Chief Magistrate Collins Ali after receiving remand warrant from police on the case, remanded the suspect to Port Harcourt correctional centre and ordered the case file to be handed over to the office of Director of public prosecution (DPP) for legal advise.
Our correspondent reports that the suspect did not take his plea since there was no prefer charge on him as the Presiding magistrate adjourned the case to 15th of June, 2023 for DPP advise.
The spokesperson for the Rivers State Police command, SP Grace Iringe Koko had confirmed the incident adding that the suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt for proper investigation.
Recall that Danjuma was arrested by his former Boss, Mrs Boma Amabomu Jumbo, former University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) Director of Administration in Rivers state on allegation of theft and was later arraigned in court.
Mr Danjuma, we learned started plotting how to kill his former Boss after he perfected his bail condition and released from custody.
Danjuma who hails from Nasarawa state in a video, confessed before the Rivers state Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) how he broke into his victims house, took a matchet from her house and butchered her with it in the early hours of Tuesday , 9th of May, 2023.
