Alleged Cable Vandal Arrested In Iwofe
The vigilant in the early hours of last week Friday arrested a suspected vandal who gave his name as Godiya Yakubu while trying to cut street light cable at Iwofe axis, Port Harcourt.
Richman Jogwe, Chief Security Officer, in charge of Calabar Quarters in Iwofe, Port Harcourt in an interview with our reporter said “early hours of this morning, we arrested Godiya Yakubu, from Benue state.
He and two others went to cut the cables connected to the Government street lights at Iwofe road. The other two ran away .
“We have handed him(Godiya Yakubu) over to Rumupakani (Ada George) Police Division”.
Recall that two weeks ago, Borokiri Police Division also arrested three young men, Belema Aggo, Michael Edet and George Itarikabo in the act of vandalizing street lights provided for the community by NDDC.
The suspects and exhibits, which include eight solar panels, eight heavy duty batteries and two street lights, recovered were taken into Police custody, while the spokesperson of the State Command, SP Koko said investigation was ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang, as well as receivers of previously stolen items.
