Late Inspector Ben Orji Laid To Rest

The remains of a celebrated crime fighter from Omoku in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State retired Mopol Inspector Benneth Orji-Otoboh was on Friday 22nd April, 2022 laid to rest at his Omoku residence amid tears and wailings.

The deceased, an immediate elder brother of the Public Relations Officer, Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP, (Mmboh Krikri) died on Saturday 16th April, 2022 following a brief illness at the age of 67 years.

He enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1979 as a constable and retired in 2014 as Mopol Inspector after 35 good years of meritorious service of his father land.

In his homily, titled “ALWAYS BE PREPARED FOR DEATH” the pastor in charge of Greater Evangelist World Crusade (Church 1 Ogba West Zonal Headquarters, Obosi Omoku), Dr. Isirimah B. C who spoke through pastor Humble Johnson called on all human being to always be prepared for death by always doing what is good as death is an inevitable that every man born of a woman must one day experience.

He disclosed that through the deceased just spend few years with the church before his health challenges but thanked Almighty God because he was a committed, humble and God fearing gentle man before his death.

In his brief remarks, the executive chairman of ONELGA Council, Hon. Vincent Nwaobakata Job, JP called on indigenes of ONELGA in the military, police, public service or any position of trust to emulate the late Mopol Inspector Benneth Orji-Otoboh who served his father land for good 35 years and retired without blemish or denting the image of the LGA and thanked God for him (the deceased) for the good life he lived on earth before his passage.

In his appreciation on behalf of the family, the Chief Mourner, Prince      Charles Amadike-Otoboh, JP (Mmboh Krikri) thanked God and all those who stood by the family since the incident and pray God to reward each and every one of them richly. 

Present at the burial Ceremony were the Chairman of ONELGA Council, Hon. Vincent N. Job, JP, the Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland, His Eminence, Barr. Nwachuku Obuoha Nnam-Obi III, represented by the immediate past Chairman of Omoku City Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs, HRH, Eze Ngozi David Ebiri (Eze Obiohuru), the Eze Ali Usomini of Ogbaland and member, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM, Eze (Dr.) A. N Osoh, JP, the Provost, Registrar, Directors of Works, Procurement, Public Relations, SWIES and head, Human Resources of FCE(T), Omoku, Dr. Emmanuel Ikenyiri, KSC, Dr. Godpower Ahiakwo, Dr. Engr. Nathan Wokocha, Mrs. Dispeh Pac Ordu, Mr. Achakoro, I. A, Dr. Ahiauzu Levi Uche and Mr. Chukwuma Agi respectively, the immediate past Secretary, ONELGA Council, Dr. Innocent Osam, a House of Assembly aspirant under PDP, Dr. Franklin Nwabuochi, a Chieftain of GDI in River State Hon. Zik Nwaikiri and the Vicar in charge of FIRST African Church Mission, Obosi, Omoku, Pastor A.O Elebachi.

Others include the Eze Alioma of Ogbaland, HRH Eze John Asawa Ikwuadi, the Eze Obieti Omoku, HRH, Eze Ikechukwu Allen Onita, the Ochi Oha Okpopi Community, HRH Associate Prof. Gideon Wokocha, the leader Obakata Mandate, Chief (Hon) M.A Osaji, a former Chairman Obrikom C.D.C, Mr. Emeka Adiela, the Deputy Director Obakata Mandate, Chief C.C Oburu, the Chairman NURTW Omoku Branch, Chief Chukwudi Eluozo (Eze Ego ohuru), serving and retired military and police officers, members of Omoku Town Club, Obakata Mandate, Obieti Focus, Foundation Club of Nigeria, the Media, the Political Class and Clergies and people from all walks of life.
