Popular Gospel Singer Collapses, Dies During Performance
Brazilian gospel singer Pedro Henrique, aged 30, passed away after collapsing on stage during a performance on Wednesday night.
The incident occurred as he was singing his song ‘Vai Ser Tão Lindo’ at a religious event streamed online in the northeastern city of Feira de Santana, according to a report from Daily Mail on Thursday. Henrique suffered a massive heart attack, as confirmed by his record label, Todah Music.
Video footage captured the moment when Henrique, standing on the edge of the stage, lost balance and fell backward. Concerned attendees rushed to assist him, but despite efforts, he was pronounced dead after being taken to a nearby clinic.
The gospel singer had anticipated the release of a new project on his YouTube channel the following night, as indicated in his Instagram post on Wednesday: “Really looking forward to this release! Tomorrow at 18:00 is launching on the YouTube channel. Thank you #todahmusic & #aguiarmultimusic for such an amazing project.”
Expressing sorrow, Todah Music shared a post on Instagram on Thursday, stating, “There are very difficult situations in life, for which we have no explanation. We just need to understand that the will of God prevails!”
“We believe Peter will have a prominent place in the great Heavenly Choir! The songs in his voice will not die and his legacy will live on through his wife, his daughter Zoe and so many lives that have been and will be reached by Christ through the records of his voice!”
Survived by his wife, Suilan Barreto, and their daughter, Zoe, who was born on October 19, the 30-year-old gospel singer’s passing has left a void. As of Thursday, Barreto, also a gospel influencer, had not issued any public statements.
