IPOB Tasks FG To Release Kanu As Directed By UN

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has tasked the Buhari led Federal Government to release its detained leader Mazi  Nnamdi Kanu as directed by the United Nations (UN).

UN Human Rights Council Working Group on Arbitrary Dention had asked the APC Government of Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu immediately and unconditionally and pay him compensation for violating his fundamental rights.

Kanu has been in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja since 2021 he was abducted in Kenya and brought to Nigeria.

Reacting to the directive, Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s lawyer asked the federal government to head the directive by releasing the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) unconditionally.

In the same vein, Kanu has reportedly expressed delight over the development and hoped the government will act as told.

Barr. Ejimakor who made Kanu’s reaction known, wrote: “I just exited from visiting Onyendu#MNK. We discussed issues that have lingered from when I last saw him on 27th June. The big event was his landmark victory at the United Nations. It made him cheery and he expressed profound gratitude to the team that made it happen”.

It is believed that the Federal Government would act as directed inorder to reduce tensions in Igboland and stop the everyday killings going on there.
