Land Dispute: Rumucheta Family Accuses Nigeria Air Force Of Breach Of Court Order

The Rumucheta family of Mgbuesilaru community,  Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has accused the Nigeria Air force of violating the order of court restraining both parties from entering a disputed land in the community.

This is sequel to the alarm raised by the community over alleged encroachment on the land by the Nigeria Airforce led by Group Captain Opeleye Azeez despite a court injunction restraining him and his agents from the disputed land pending the determination of the case in court.

According to the paramount ruler of Mgbuesilaru community, Eze Ejike Weli, the community will not allow the Nigeria Airforce to take their land by force and expressed the community’s readiness to fight for what belongs to them.

The traditional ruler who spoke on behalf of the community noted that over 10 hectares of land are involved, claimed that the community had spent so much money in creating roads, drainages and street lights which he said must have attracted the Nigeria Airforce.

National Network further gathered that Chief Vincent Nwanwa, Comrade Solomon Amadi, Pastor Prince Amadi and Chief Darlington Wali on behalf of entire members of the community had sued the Nigeria Airforce and Group Captain Opeleye Azeez where an order of interlocutory injunction was given by Justice Enebeli of the Rivers State High Court.

Speaking to journalists in Port Harcourt, the counsel to the community and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Cosmos Enweluzo explained that the community has boundary with the Nigeria Airforce which is a known fact.

Mr Enweluzo also informed that when Group Captain Opeleye Azeez took over the leadership of the Nigeria Airforce he forcefully entered into the community land, despite an order of court restraining him.

When contacted,  Group Captain Opeleye Azeez of the Nigeria Airforce Port Harcourt denied knowledge of the matter.
