Normalcy Returns To Rivers Community As Vigilante Returns Seized Riffles
Normalcy has returned to Rundele community in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State following the retrieving of two guns and uniforms of two Soldiers which was seized by leader of disbanded OSPAC(Vigilante) group Gift Ajuru last Saturday.
The Chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr Chidi Lylod in Port Harcourt on Monday confirmed the development. Dr Lylod expressed shock that untrained civilian could disarm trained military officers. The Council Chairman said he is highly embarrassed by the development.
The Emohua LGA Chairman said the development has justified his claims that the Soldiers are aiding illegal oil bunkerers in the LGA. Dr Lylod stated that the Soldiers were disarmed and their uniforms collected following a disagreement with the Soldiers and the Chairman of disbanded OSPAC (Vigilante) Chairman over sharing of proceeds from illegal oil bunkering.
Recall that residents of Rundele had fled the community when Soldiers laid siege last Sunday morning over shooting of two of their personnel, seizing of their two riffles and uniforms by leader of the vigilante group in the community .
