…Inducted Fellow of Baptist College Of Theology
The Chairman/Chief Executive of Moni Pulo Limited, Dr Seinye Lulu-Briggs has reaffirmed her commitment to service to God and society.
At the 54th Graduation/Fellowship Award ceremony of the Baptist College of Theology, Obinze, in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State on Saturday, Dr Lulu-Briggs said kingdom service remained the driving force behind everything she did.
The Moni Pulo CEO, who was inducted as a Fellow of the College, expressed heartfelt gratitude while reflecting on her lifelong devotion to service to God and humanity.
Stressing that the recognition deeply humbled her, Dr Seinye Lulu-Briggs said: “I stand before you with joy, excitement, and a reinvigorated commitment to Kingdom work, which is my life’s work”.
Represented at the occasion by Ven (Dr) Amaechi Okwuosa, Dr Lulu-Briggs said she was further grateful to be used as an instrument that God is using to reach out and answer the prayers of people in need.
At the ceremony, attended by guests including the Commander of 34 Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Brig.-General Sani Sulaiman, President of Nigerian Baptist Convention, Rev. ( Dr) Israel Adelani Akanji and federal lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Chinda, Dr Lulu-Briggs urged the graduands to be diligent as they serve in the Lord’s vineyard.
The prestigious award recipient also pledged to take the responsibility that comes with the honor seriously.
“I will not hold back in contributing to the vibrant community of scholars and learners at the Baptist College of Theology. Iron sharpeneth iron and I plead that we challenge and inspire one another to grow, question, and seek the truth”, she declared.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman Board of Governors of the College, Hon (Dr) Dawari George, noted that theological institutions are run through gifts, endowments and grants, calling on individuals and corporate bodies to support the college.
“We commend the Nigerian Baptist Convention for subventions to the college. That s what fills a big chunk of our recurrent expenditure and leaves nothing for capital expenditure, especially in the provision, upgrading and maintenance of critical infrastructure in the college. It is this gap that we have consistently put out a call to Macedonia for help”, Dr George said.
The Chairman listed what he said are the college’s urgent needs, including rebuilding the collapsed College Chapel, new college gate and maintenance of the road leading to the college, among others.
Commenting on the Fellowship award to Dr Seinye Lulu-Briggs, the Acting Rector of the College, Rev (Prof) Reuben Chuga commended her extraordinary humanitarian efforts and kingdom service.
He said: “Her lifelong commitment to kingdom service serves as an inspiration to us all. Her compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication have made a significant difference in the lives of countless individuals”.
The high point of the ceremony was the rendition of inspirational choral songs by the BACOTO music department.
