Obi Delivers All Anambra LGAs  For Atiku

Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has won the presidential election conducted in Anambra State.

The party’s vice presidential candidate, Peter Obi, hails from the state.

The collation officer for Anambra, Prof. Francis Otunta, Vice-Chancellor of Michael Okpara University, announced at 2 a.m. on Tuesday in Awka, that Atiku defeated Muhammadu Buhari by 524,738 votes to 33,298 votes.

Results show that Atiku won in all 21 local government areas in the state.

Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), John Gbor, scored 30, 034 votes to emerge third, while Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) got 4, 091 votes.

Otunta said the state had a total of 2.389, 332 million registered voters, 675, 273 were accredited. The total number of votes cast was 605,734 while 19,301 votes were rejected.

“The Anambra presidential election results, as collated, will be handed over to the INEC National Chairman in Abuja who will add it to others across the 36 states and the FCT, before the final announcement of the winner,” Otunta said.
