The heartbreaking news of his death was received on Wednesday, leaving colleagues, friends, and associates devastated by the loss of a man widely regarded as one of the profession’s finest voices.
High Chief Wehere was more than a journalist; he was a brother, mentor, and courageous advocate for truth. Known for his warmth, humour, and disarming humility, he brought life and strength into every space he entered.
His commitment to ethical journalism, his passion for justice, and his profound love for people distinguished him in a field that often demands more than it gives.

Rev’d Canon Jerry Needam, Publisher of National Network Newspaper, expressed deep sorrow at the news, describing Chief Wehere as “a brother whose heart was bigger than his words, a colleague who inspired, and a friend whose absence leaves the newsroom of life emptier.”
