Oba Of Ogbaland Congratulates New Knights
The Oba (Eze-Ogba) of Ogbaland and former Chairman, Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Eminence, Sir (Dr) ChukumelaNnam Obi II, has congratulated indigenes of Ogba Ethnic Nationality and their spouses who were recently conferred with Knighthood by the Bishop of Anglican Church, Ahoada Diocese, Rt. Rev. Clement Nathan Ekpeye.
Oba Chukumela Nnam Obi II who is also a Knight of Grand Commander of the Mystical Order of Saint Peters (KTGC), in a statement by his media aide, Prince Charles Amadike-Otoboh advised the new Knights and their ladies to note that their choice for the honour was not an accident, noting that good things does not come easily as it takes only men/women of great determination to reach and attain their goals, adding that to whom much is given, much more is expected.
He expressed joy for the choice of the awardees as many of them are worthy sons/daughter of Ogba Kingdom who have served the people creditably in various capacities, while some of them are on the reserved bench awaiting assignments.
The Eze Ogba called on them to use their new positions to contribute their quotas towards the continuous peace, unity and development of their committees, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area in particular, Rivers State and Nigeria in general and expressed appreciation to the Bishop of Ahoada Diocese of Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Clement Nathan Ekpeye, the leadership and the entire members of the church for finding the awardees worthy for the investiture and wished them fruitful knighthood.
The new knights are a former Chairman of ONELGA Caretaker Committee, Sir (Dr) Martins Ahiakwo JP, the Provost Federal College of Education (Technical) Omoku, Sir (Dr) Emmanuel Ikenyiri, a former Rivers State lawmaker, Sir (Dr) Kingdom Ogbamgba, two known politicians in the State, Sir (Dr) Innocent Eke and Sir Ken Nwabuochi. Others include Sir IfeanyichukwuAhiakwo, Sir Bright Elekwachi, Sir Albert Chuka Elenwa, Sir Henry Uche Ugoji and Lady Eunice N.O. Isirimah.
All the male recipients and their wives were invested into the order of the knighthood of Saint Christopher (KSC), while the onlyfemale (LadyIsirimah) was invested into the order of Saint Mary (KSM).
The awardees were among the 21 persons conferred with knighthood during the 3rd investiture of knights into the Order of the Knighthood of Saint Christopher (KSC) and St Mary (KSM) by the Church of Nigerian (Anglican Communion), Diocese of Ahoada on Saturday 22nd June, 2019.
