Report reaching our desk has it that middle aged house wife is lying critically ill in an undisclosed hospital in Port Harcourt following deep wound sustained from a bite by her husband. The incident happened at 40 Adelabu Street Mile II Diobu, Port Harcourt on July 13, 2019.
National Network learnt that the husband and wife had misunderstanding over financial issues which resulted in a heated argument that led to fight.
Our source alleged that the woman held the man at his genitals before the man bit her to remove her hand.
Our reporter who was at the scene of the incident reports that the woman came with four armed Police officers from Nkpolu Police Division to Apostolic Church in the street where she and her husband worship to report the matter to the pastor before she proceeded with the officers to effect the arrest of her husband
Our man at the street also revealed that the woman was bleeding profusely at her right thumb
A member of the church who pleaded anonymity told National Network that the Apostolic Church Pastor along with the couple went to the Police station later in the day to resolve the matter
He explained that before the Pastor went to the Police station, the Police had already detained the man on charges bordering on assault
Some Church members who spoke to National Network condemned the show of shame by the husband and wife which had made them topic of discussion in the church and their residence adding ‘Christians are supposed to be peace loving people’.
Another parishioner who spoke to National Network explained that there is no marriage without challenges but understanding and wisdom are needed to overcome every marital crisis
As at press time feelers from the church indicate that the husband and wife may be suspended for putting the name of organization into disrepute
Checks by National Network reporter revealed that the woman’s shop located within the vicinity was under lock and key throughout the weekend.
