All Saints Cathedral Church Marks 10th Anniversary
It was a great celebration as the All Saint’s Cathedral Church, Rumukwurusi of Evo Diocese of Port Harcourt marked its 10th anniversary as part of activities for dedication of the church new cathedral on Saturday, July 14, 2019 in the city of Port Harcourt.
The Primate of the Anglican Communion of Nigeria His Grace, the Most Rev. Nicolas D. Okoh, during his sermon urged the Anglican Community to dedicate their lives to the services of God and also put on garment of humility, and not just for them to go to church so as to enjoy the music and dance, rather their lives should correspond with God’s requirement of his people who worship in the church, adding that just as the church was being dedicated, the worshippers should be dedicated also.
The host, Bishop Innocent Ordu also called on clergymen to take the services and the work of God seriously. He frowned at clergymen who desecrate the house of God by indulging in immoral conducts not in line with the teachings of the Bible.
The Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Council, Hon. Solomon Eke commended the Bishop for always preaching the undiluted Word of God and prayed for him to continue to teach them better in a way that Evo kingdom will be liberated, for more souls to be converted to God and also for there to be a society free of insecurity and other social vices.
He also used the opportunity to thank Governor Nyesom Wike, who on behalf of the government financially assisted them in the building of the Cathedral.
Also speaking was Eze Wokoma, the Paramount Ruler of Rumukwurusi, who said they were all happy because is not everybody who has the privilege to build the House of God.
He advised the worshippers to rely on God at all times in order to overcome challenges and appreciate God for His grace, “we all should serve God in spirit and in truth with total humility and submission to Most High God for His grace to manifest on us”, he said.
