Unknown Gunmen Kidnap Printing Press Operator In Port Harcourt
Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers reportedly abducted an operator of a press from his office located at Azikiwe Street, Mile 2 Diobu, Port Harcourt, National Network gathered.
An eyewitness who gave his name as Collins Emeka told our reporter that the incident occurred at about 7:15pm. Our source explained that four of the gunmen walked into the man’s office immediately they alighted from their vehicle while the driver remained in the car.
The eyewitness account further revealed that the suspected kidnappers dragged their victim into the waiting vehicle and sped off.
The incident led to pandemonium as neighbours and residents scampered for safety, the source stated.
According to the report,, drinking bar and brothels that are very close to the scene suffered heavy loss as customers who had not paid for drinks they were served ran away due to the chaos.
Our reporter who visited the scene reports that officials of ‘Operation Sting’ attached to Azikiwe Police Divisional Headquarters and other officers were seen in front of the man’s shop discussing with residents and the victim’s workers to possibly ascertain what actually transpired.
Investigation by National Network showed that the printing press had been under lock and key after the incident occurred while the police had intensified patrol around the area.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to text messages sent to his mobile phone by our reporter on enquiries into the kidnap incident.
