…Reportedly Told Wife He Went For Night Vigil
Residents of Akwaka Phase 3, Road 1, Rumuodomaya in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area were thrown into confusion on Saturday following the death of a man simply identified as Prince in the apartment of his female lover.
National Network learnt that the deceased who is said to be a pastor in one of the Pentecostal churches in Port Harcourt, had reportedly told his house wife he was going for a night vigil programme last Friday night, unknown to his wife that he went to spend the night in his female lover’s house.
We gathered that the female lover raised an alarm on Saturday morning to alert neighbours of the pastor’s death.
According to our source, somebody who knew the pastor’s wife called her on phone to inform her of the death of her husband in his female lover’s house.
The source explained that the wife of the pastor came with other members of the family and rushed him to University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) where the pastor was confirmed dead.
A neighbor revealed to National Network that the moment the pastor was confirmed dead in the hospital, the female lover simply known as Deborah who hails from Ebonyi State, allegedly disappeared into the thin air.
In the meantime, the Rumuokoro Police Station located at same Rumuodomaya, a stone throw from where the incident took place, has arrested the landlord of the compound where the pastor died.
A senior Police Officer in the station, who pleaded for anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press, informed our reporter that the police had launched a manhunt for the fleeing female lover.
He confirmed the arrest of the landlord, while adding that investigation had commenced to ascertain if the man died from natural cause or is a case of murder.
Investigations by National Network showed that the Pastor who is from Edo State is married with children.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni was yet to respond to text messages to his mobile line by our reporter on enquiry into the incident.
The female lover is still at large as at the time of filing this report.
