COVID-19: Gov Wike Has Shown Leadership – IPAC

The Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria, (IPAC), Rivers State Chapter has thrown its weight behind the preventive measures being taken by His Excellency, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Governor of Rivers State to stop the spread and transmission of the coronavirus pandemic within the State.

Speaking at the IPAC Advocacy campaign on COVID-19 over the weekend in Port Harcourt, the IPAC chairman in Rivers State, Hon. Chima Nsirim commended Gov Wike for the necessary steps he has taken for Rivers residents and people to remain safe and appealed to the people to fully comply with the government directives in their own interest.

According to the IPAC chairman, “whatever decision the governor takes he has 100% support of IPAC in Rivers State.

He appealed to individuals and organizations to support the state government with contributions and donations to fight the scourge.

IPAC also advised the security operatives to enforce government directives professionally and with human face.

Recall  that IPAC is an association of the 91 registered political parties in Rivers State.

The outgoing state chairman of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and Sole Administrator, Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro Felix Obuah who was part of the campaign described governor Wike as a leader of the people who has exhibited exemplary leadership in governance.

Obuah said “first of all, I commend our leader, the governor of Rivers State for what he has done so far including the regular information the government is sharing daily to the public, this is leadership.

Let us obey government directives or order. There are for the best interest of the State. We, (IPAC) have absolute confidence in our governor, whatever he does is always for the best interest of the State,” he stated.

Obuah equally hailed all religious leaders, organizations, students, CDCs, Market people, youth organizations and others who obeyed the directives of the government.

The politician thanked IPAC for organizing an advocacy campaign to sensitize Rivers residents and urged them to keep supporting the government.
