Pressure Mounts On Girl Allegedly Abducted, Abused By Vigilante To Drop Case
Reports reaching National Network News desk suggest that some powerful individuals are mounting pressure on the mother of Miss Precious, 21 years old lady who was allegedly abducted and sexually abused by a security outfit in Diobu, Port Harcourt, known as ‘Diobu OSPAC’.
Sources informed our reporter that bulk of the pressure is said to be from the family of the man whose daughter was molested as it is believed that the father of the 21 year old victim is complicit in the case by calling in vigilante group to arrest his daughter and two sons he accused of stealing his money.
Dependable source told our reporter that the notable individuals who are mounting pressure on the mother of the victim to withdraw the case are of the view that if the matter is allowed to continue, the father of the 21 year old girl will also face justice alongside the vigilante members if found culpable.
The mother of the 21 years old female victim confirmed the development to our reporter but declined further comments.
The Rivers State Police Command had last week Thursday arrested members of the vigilante group over the abduction and sexual abuse of the 21 year old lady following complaint made by the victim and two of her brothers to Nkpolu Divisional Police headquarters on their alleged abduction from their house at Mile 3 Diobu, on 11th April,2020 by members of the group and subsequent detention at the office of the security personnel.
Narrating their ordeal in the hands of the vigilante members to our reporter, Miss Precious who spoke for herself and her two brothers claimed that on that fateful day at about 8:00PM,the vigilante members purportedly on the orders of her father invaded their house and took them away.
Miss Precious stated that upon arrival to the office of the vigilante group,she was allegedly stripped naked and placed in a separate room from her brothers. She said the vigilante members subjected her to severe torture and also inserted their fingers in her private part that they want to ascertain she is still a virgin.
She revealed that the security personnel also took video of her nakedness.
The 21 year old lady hinted that the vigilante members after beating them thoroughly, shaved her hairs and that of her brothers before they were released the following day.
She explained that she was admitted in hospital for four days after the vigilante group released her and her brothers from their detention.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, confirmed the arrest of the vigilante members to our reporter. DSP Omoni disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Mukan, has ordered a full scale investigation into the matter and if the vigilante members are found culpable they will be made to face the wrath of the law.
The spokesperson added that in as much as vigilante members are partners in the fight against crime, they do not have the power to operate a detention facility. He said at best they can arrest a suspect and such suspect(s) must be handed over to the police immediately.
The chairman of the vigilante group accused of abducting and sexually molesting the 21 year old lady, Godstime Ihunwo in his reaction said the group only cautioned the three siblings following a report by their father of constant harassment from his children. Mr Ihunwo denied allegations that they sexually molested the lady.
