Police Area Commander Bags Niger Delta Media Award
As a way of promoting hard work and professionalism, the Niger Delta Media Forum (NDMF) has conferred Award of Excellence on the Oyigbo Police Area Commander, ACP Collins Rosemary, for her contributions to humanity, especially in security of lives and property.
The group led by Prince Gbasam said it got approval from the Police Public Relations Officer and the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command to honour the Awardee in recognition of her outstanding leadership qualities and commitment in the fight against criminality in the area.
Encouraging her to often put in her best in the service of the nation as according to them posterity would be kind to her at the end of her service.
Presenting the award which held at Oyigbo Police Command Headquarters last week the group said the reduction in crime has increase tremendously economic, social and religious activities courtesy ACP Collins posting to the area.
The group said prompt arrest of kidnappers, resolving frequent impasse between the Herdsmen and IPOB, raiding kidnappers hideout, building public confidence on police are some of the achievements that necessitated the award.
Earlier, ACP Collins expressed joy and thanked the organizers for the award describing it as well deserved and reward for hard work, acknowledging God’s kindness and protection over her life since she was posted.
According to her “it is an award well deserved and I am pleased to receive it.” She however dedicated the award to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Mohammed Adamu, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Mukan and the good people of Oyigbo, Obio/Akpor, Etche and Omuma which covers her area of jurisdiction.
She further said the Oyigbo council chairman, Prince Gerald Oforji, the traditional rulers as well as the newly inaugurated community policing advisory committee members are not left out in the acknowledgment.
ACP Collins said however that the commitment toward ensuring that the area command under her watch witnesses violent crime free era is to ensure the realization of the IGP directives of maintaining a zero level tolerance of crime in the society.
She thanked Gov Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for the operational vehicles and logistics supports which she said has been of immense help to the police.
She further appeal to the public for useful information for their assignment.
