Monarch Demands Police Division

The traditional institution in Iriebe, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area has called for the establishment of police division in the area.

The paramount Ruler and Eze  Oha the VI of Iriebe, HRH Eze Worenwu Jeremiah made the call in his palace over the weekend following Rivers State Government readiness to relocate Ikokwu spare parts dealers to his domain.

Eze Worenwu said Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike meant well for the Ikokwu Spare parts dealers by relocating them to a better environment capable of accommodating their lawful activities.

The Iriebe paramount Ruler however on behalf of his community thanked his Excellency, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Wike for extending his developmental strive to his community, assuring the Governor that Iriebe which remains a gate way community would support his determination to make Rivers State better through New Rivers Vision.

Eze Iriebe said the establishment of police division is long overdue now that Ikokwu spare parts dealers are getting set to relocate to their permanent site in Iriebe.

He said iriebe has enough land space and all it takes to accommodate the spare parts dealers and all Nigerians who intend to engage in legitimate businesses.

According to him, “we are aware of Rivers State Government’s move to relocate Ikokwu spare parts dealers to Iriebe. Iriebe community is excited that Governor Nyesom wike has remembered us in his developmental strive. We are not surprised by the pronouncement following Governor Wike’s antecedents since he was elected as Governor, we also appeal to the Governor as a matter of urgency facilitate the building of Iriebe Divisional police,” He said.

He lamented the burden his people have been facing each time due to absence of police Division.

He regretted the delay in the establishment which according to the Eze has been approved by the Inspector General ‘of Police following their letter of application, saying Iriebe do not only have vast land, but also a gate way community, calm, accommodating and remains the first son of Oro Sara which compromises eighteen communities in Obio/Akpor.
