Police Arrest Task Force Official Over Life Threatening Accident Of 13-Year-Old
A task force personnel who is alleged to be working for Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State has been arrested by the Ozuoba Police Station over complicity that resulted to sustaining of severe injury by a JSS3 student, Bassey Jamma who is now lying critically ill in the hospital.
National Network exclusively gathered that the JSS 3 student was on his way home after French exam on Monday when the incident occurred. The task force official and his colleagues who are now on the run, were said to have engaged the driver of a Siena car in a scuffle along NTA/Ozuoba and the vehicle veered off the road and knocked Jamma out of consciousness.
An eyewitness told our reporter that as a result of the manner the task force official seized the Siena vehicle, the car totally left the main road and lifted the poor boy from the pedestrian walkway which made him to sustain life threatening injuries.
One of the task force officials was caught by the mob and handed over to the police in Ozuoba.
The source disclosed that the 13-year-old boy was rushed unconscious to hospital and it was discovered that he lost most of his upper teeth while his jaw and part of his face was mutilated.
The Head of the private school where the 13-year-old boy attends, Mrs. Bisi Nwabuekwu confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with our reporter.
The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Hon Solomon Eke, could not respond to text message sent to him by our reporter, but one of his aides who pleaded anonymity, said the Council do not have any task force, adding that the arrested suspect and his cohorts are fake task force.
The spokesperson of Rivers State Police Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, was yet to respond to text message sent to him by our reporter.
