Eze Egi Sues For Peace As Odili Bags Chieftaincy Title
The paramount ruler of Egi Kingdom, HRM, Eze Anele Wokoma, has reiterated the need for a peaceful and tranquil reign of peace in and around Egi kingdom.
Speaking during the recent conferment of chieftaincy title of ‘Eze Ome Udo Ka Erema’ on the Executive Chairman of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, Hon. Victor Ifeanyi Odili which held at Erema Community, the Egi monarch recalled that he ascended to the throne of Eze Egi at a crisis period, pointing out that having initiated peace, he would not have turned around to ferment trouble.
He described the ONELGA Council boss as a square peg in a square hole and called on the people to give him the needed support to succeed.
“If you know you have called somebody an enemy, go and settle with him or her. If you know you have sued somebody in my shrine or in any other shrine, go and settle the issue with him or
her. If you have sued any Erema person in the court of law, go and withdraw it”, the Eze Egi ordered.
Speaking on the issue of CDC in the area, Eze Wokoma restated that the people of Erema or Egi had nothing to do with CDC, adding that the word CDC, according to him, is a new concept or notion which was created by the government.
On the celebration of the annual ‘Erema Day’ festivity, the king reassured that as far as there is life, Erema Day would be celebrated every 25th day of December.
“We will continue to celebrate Erema Day. Let us go ahead and celebrate Erema Day but all sons and daughters of Erema must stop fermenting trouble”, Eze Wokoma pleaded.
Speaking after his conferment of chieftaincy title of Eze Ome Udo Ka Erema, Hon. Odili said he would use the
resources and honour done him by the people of Erema to promote peace as well as protect the interest of the LGA.
He assured that his administration would make every effort towards the promotion of peace and development of the area; and thanked the people of Erema for finding him deserving of the honour.
Also speaking, an illustrious son of the area, Engr. GoodnewsMgbonu described the Erema Day celebration as landmark and eventful, commending the organizers for what he said, is a vast improvement.
He told members of the Erema Peace and Reconcilliation Committee to see what they could do to reconcile all the aggrieved sons and daughters of the area, assuring that he would support every move to ensure lasting peace in the area.
