Murder Of Telecoms Mast Guard: Suspect Moved To SCIID By Prince Wiro

Operatives of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID), Port Harcourt has opened investigation into the suspected murder of one Onyekachi Onuoha, a security guard at a telecommunication mast located at Abel Jumbo Street, Mile 2 Diobu in Port Harcourt last week.

This followed the transfer of the case file from the Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters to SCIID on the directive of the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday.

The Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Police Command, Nnamdi Omoni had confirmed the recovery of the corpse of Onuoha, whose hands and legs were tied with a rope at the telecommunication mast.

SP Nnamdi Omoni disclosed that the corpse has been evacuated and deposited in the mortuary. He added that one suspect has been arrested while investigation is ongoing.

National Network gathered that residents woke up in shock last week to see the deceased tied with rope which made the residents to raise alarm and informed the Police.

Speculations were rife that the deceased was tied up by vandals who came to steal valuable parts from the generating set in the telecommunication mast.
