Tension As Gunmen Kill Suspected OSPAC Member
There is rising tension in Ibaa Community, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State as gunmen, suspected to be cultists last week Friday shot and killed a young man whose name was simply given as Prince, who is said to be a member of the disbanded OSPAC local vigilante in the area.
We gathered that the incident, which took place in the wee hours of last Friday, caused panic and pandemonium in the community.
The spokesperson of the Rivers State Police command, SP Nnamdi Omoni did not pick several calls put across to him, neither did he respond to a text message by our reporter as at press time.
Community sources however, confirmed the incident to our reporter but those who spoke pleaded anonymity for fear of their lives.
Recall that some natives had accused members of the disbanded OSPAC of engaging in senseless killings in the community which may plunge the community into serious crisis.
The natives had alleged one Chinedu Emordu, Henry Madume, Diamond Wojiele and two others were allegedly killed by the disbanded OSPAC members two weeks ago in Ibaa, while some persons were still reportedly missing.
The Secretary of the disbanded OSPAC, Aleruchi Livingstone in an interview with journalists, denied allegations linking the disbanded group with the attack that led to the deaths of the persons.
Mr. Livingstone disclosed that the group has not been operating after they were suspended by the Emohua Council Boss, Hon. Tom Aliezi some weeks ago.
He however, attributed the incident to raging cult war between two rival groups.
