…As UCC Rumuomasi Rounds Off Programme
A 3-day spiritual revival programme tagged ‘Operation Take it by Force’ has been concluded by the United Church of Christ (UCC), Papa’s House, Rumuomasi District in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the grand finale of the event on Sunday, the Guest Speaker, Apostle Mike Egbo of UCC General Headquarters, Enugu, said that for Nigerians to get favour from God, they must not only imbibe moral values, but must live morally upright.
His words, “Nigerians need to imbibe moral values. If we must attract the favour of God, we need to live morally upright. We must avoid careless ness. We must be careful with what we say and must also be careful with what we put in our mouth. Watch what you do and do not accuse somebody wrongly”.
The guest speaker pointed out that people should not live their lives to please anybody but must apply wisdom in their dealings in order to please God.
He stated that there was nothing wrong for Christians to be close to their pastors but that it is wrong to fight their pastors because the pastors are their spiritual fathers, saying that young women in the churches should avoid ‘tempting’ their pastors.
The minister who made reference to Gen. 6:5 explained that whenever you see untimely death, it means that it is programmed by man because, according to the Holy Bible, every man is supposed to live for 120 years.
Apostle Egbo told members of the congregation not to choose untimely death, stressing that death would not be their portion.
The clergyman who described the District Superintendent of UCC Rumuomasi, Rev. Dr. Godslight Emere as a great servant of God who should be given the necessary support, promised that the National Leadership of UCC would continue to win souls for Christ.
Also speaking, the District Superintendent, Rev. Dr. Godslight Emere said the essence and purpose of the programme was not only to spread the words of God but to win souls for Christ.
“The purpose of our 3 days programme is not only to spread the words of God but to win more souls for Christ. In fact, I want to inform you that in this programme, about 15 souls have been won”, he declared, saying the programme was a huge success.
Drawing from the scriptures, the District Superintendent said that despite the economic and security challenges in the country, every child of God should stand up and take what belongs to him or her.
He expressed regret that in Nigeria, 80% of the country’s wealth is in the hands of a few Nigerians while about 20% live in abject poverty, assuring that God would continue to provide for His people.
“In spite of the enormous challenges in the country, I expect members of the UCC Rumuomasi to be strong in the Lord. In fact, they should maintain their faith in the Lord, stand up and take what belongs to him or her”, Rev. Dr. Emere urged.
