Religious Youth Leaders Mobilise Against Politicians
Having been frustrated over the political and economic situation in Nigeria over the years, some concerned religious leaders from both the Christian and Muslim circle have been mobilizing throughout the states to rescue the country from total collapse.
The concerned group under the aegis of Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN) said they are prepared to take their destiny by their hands through the project of a One new united country where justice and equity prevail.
Speaking with newsmen over the weekend in Port Harcourt during a One-day Mega prayer session, the IBBN Visionner and National Coordinator, Prophet (Dr) Amb. Isa Elbuba said it is now known that the older politicians have failed the country and so needs to be shoved aside for new ideas in the interest of all.
The Interdenominational prayer movement whose theme was “National Repentance, Revival and Recovery was held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Rumubiakani, Port Harcourt over the weekend.
According to him “the vision and mission of the project is for the youths to get involved with their energy, passion and commitment as witnessed in last year’s #ENDSARS protest all over the nation”. He said the narrative of Nigeria must change. “To realize this mission, Dr. Elbuba made it clear that the President of the country must rotate to the southern part of the country and a person with competence, capacity and character considered for the position. Prophet El buba said he is from the Northern part of the country but supports the course in the overall interest of generations unborn.
Also speaking, the Rivers State Coordinator of the movement, Amb. Pst Ekiye C.Ekiye expressed gratitude for his appointment and disclosed that with God on their side, the challenges is surmountable. He also used the opportunity to appeal to the youths of the country not to watch events by the side but get involved for the dream of a better Nigeria to be realized.
Highlights of the event were the praise and worship session, exhortations by notable men of God including the Regional pastor of RCCG and Prayer Rally Chairman of IBBN, Pst Belemina Obunge, Award of Leadership Excellence given to Evg. (Mrs) Eneni Roberts for her effort in the movement as well as inauguration of the state, local government and Ward Excos of the group.
