…Arrest Kidnappers
The Rivers State Police command has arrested three suspected kidnappers in connection with the kidnap and murder of retired Army Captain, Godfrey Zwalamark, aged 64 and a native of Plateau state.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday while briefing newsmen at the scene where the remains of the Army Captain was recovered said the incident happened on 18th September 2021 but was not reported to the Police immediately.
CP Eboka disclosed that the moment the matter was reported to the Police, the Police swung into action and through technical intelligence arrested three suspects.
CP Eboka disclosed that the suspects had demanded two hundred million naira from the family of the retired Army Captain.
The Rivers Police Boss advised youth to abstain from crime as there is no benefit in it.
The three suspects are Frank Ishie, Iwuji Rignald Gomba Okparaji.
One of the suspects, Frank Ishia who spoke to Journalists confessed to the crime.
The suspect explained that the victim was kidnapped at Agbonchia in Eleme LGA and as the victim was being taken to their destination he was proving stubborn and they shot him in the leg.
The suspect revealed that the victim bled to death and they threw him at the scene at the new layout off Igbo-Etche Road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The suspects also confessed that he had carried out four successful kidnaps and the victims were kept at their hideout in off Igbo-Etche road, Obi/Akpor before he collected ransom and released them.
