Bible Society Marks Founders’ Day
The Bible Society of Nigeria visited the Calvary Baptist Church, Borikiri to celebrate the BSN Founders Day on Sunday, March 20, 2022.
Speaking to the congregation, the Chairman of Rivers/Bayelsa Area of Bible Society of Nigeria, Elder Omoni Ayo- Tamuno, encouraged the Church to maintain their support to the Society through the Borikiri Auxiliary.
Elder Ayo-Tamuno appealed to the members to enrol on the various level of membership of the Society to raise fund for the activities and programmes of BSN.
He commended the Pastor and members of the Church for the opportunity to address the Church and expressed the hope that it would open more windows to cue in to support BSN.
The Area specifically thanked the Pastor for his kind gesture to allow the Team address the Church in spite of the conflict with the date earlier given.
Elder Ayo-Tamuno assured the Church that the BSN would continue to deliver on its core mandate of being in the forefront of promoting the widest distribution reading of the Holy Scripture, undertake the production of the Holy Bible, as well as, other Christian Literatures to meet the needs of the Church.
He said efforts would be doubled with the faithful cooperation of the Church in Nigeria to promote the translation, publishing, distribution and use of the Scripture in many Nigerian languages and dialects.
Speaking later, the Minister in charge of the Calvary Baptist Church, the Revd Awortu Emmanuel, praised the genuine efforts of BSN in supporting the Church to carry out its divine assignment to expand Kingdom work.
Rev Emmanuel pledged that the Church will enhance its support to the Bible Society of Nigeria to achieve its aims and objectives.
