Rivers APC Stumbles Again At Appeal Court

…As Restraint Order Subsists

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State again met a brick wall Tuesday as the Appeal Court sitting in Port-Harcourt rejected its request of stay of execution of the order of the Federal High Court restraining it from continuing with its governorship campaign following faulty conduct of primaries that produced party’s candidates for the 2019 general elections.

Sequent to the order of the federal high court, Port-Harcourt, Pastor Tonye Cole, his running mate, Victor Giadom, Asita H. Asita and other political allies headed for the Appeal Court for a stay of execution of the Federal High Court ruling.

In their brief remark Tuesday, the Special Panel headed by Justice C. M. Uwa rejected the request for a stay of the execution of the order on ground that the application was not properly filed and therefore not yet admitted for hearing by the Court.

The Appeal Court has however adjourned sine die and the restraint order of the Federal High Court still subsists.
