Hon. Mpigi, Dekor, Loolo Bag Awards At CACN, Kono

…As Bishop Mkparo Urges Christians To Emulate Nehemiah Example

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial hopeful for Rivers South East Senatorial Zone in the 2019 General Elections, Hon. Barry Mpigi was among those who were honored with awards by the Christ Army Church of Nigeria (CACN), Kono Town in Khana Local Government Area at the 2018 Thanksgiving Service/Launching of N100m Cathedral Building Project of the church which held on Sunday.

Also honored at the event were the immediate past Commissioner for Works and PDP candidate for Gokana/Khana Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Dumnamene Robinson Dekor, as well as the Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Hon. Lahteh Lah Loolo.

Hon. Mpigi, who was accompanied to the event by a retinue of party loyalists, including State Commissioner for Environment, Professor Roselyn Konya, member representing Khana Constituency 1, Hon Barine Deeyah, Chairman, Eleme Local Government Council, Barr. Philip Okparaji and many others, said the award is a call for greater service to God and humanity.

He lauded the host Pastor, Reverend Jerry Needam for his astuteness and industry in God’s vineyard and also praised his efforts at building a befitting edifice for the church.

Hon. Mpigi who expressed the desire of the Rivers South East PDP family to partake in the blessings of building the St. Luke CACN Cathedral, Kono Town, jointly pledged with Rt. Hon. Dekor to deliver one trailer load of cement for the building project.

He also gave assurance that the party would continue to be part of the church, promising to return to the church for a thanksgiving after the PDP wins the 2019 General Election.

Earlier in his sermon, the Bori Diocesan Bishop of CACN, Rt. Rev. Macjob Mkparo harped on the gains of building the Lord’s temple, stressing that Christians should be concerned about the condition of the place of worship.

“When God sees in your heart, the depth of concern which you feel about the place of worship he will make a way according to your heart’s desire, to build his temple.

“To everyone in this church, no gang up by Sanballat and Tobiah will stop you from receiving your blessings as you build this Cathedral.

“Solomon never regretted doing so, Nehemiah never regretted doing so, and so none of you will regret doing so as you partake in this project”, the Bishop declared.

Highlight of the event was a thrilling rendition of popular Ogoni songs during the praise and worship session; songs that were forceful and compelling, bringing the congregation to their feet with each one danced to outpace the other.

They danced, carrying in their hands, the best of farm yields and money, bringing them solemnly before the Bishop who receives and lays the harvests at the altar.

Dignitaries at the event include Marvin Yobana, Elvis, Pepsin Gone and Chief Mike Lube among others.
