Quality Education Will Not Perish  From Our Social System  – Nsereka

Despite the dwindling fortunes of the educational sector of Nigeria, exacerbated by the federal government’s non-challant attitude towards funding education and improving the welfare of  lecturers and teachers generally, a situation which have demotivated educators, there are still remnants of people who have conscientiously committed themselves to promoting a high standard of education at every level.

This observation was made on Saturday, September 10, 2022, by an Associate Professor and Ag. Head, Department of Journalism and Media Studies, Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Rivers State University, Dr. Barigbon Gbara Nsereka, after the formal opening of a basic education private school, at 21, Emole Street, Mile 2, Port Harcourt.

Dr. Nsereka who is also the Chairman of the Editorial Board of National Network Group of Newspapers, said “quality education will not perish from our social system”, no matter how plagued education has been in our country in the hands of insensitive rulers, adding that the proprietress of the school, Dr. Faith Ozikor Faith Amah, widow of Brigadier-General Elton Amah, as a passionate educationist, had what it takes to sustain a high educational standard in the school.

The school which was commissioned by the minister in charge of One Family Ministry, Rumuigbo, Prophetess Gift Marculey, is established to immortalize the name of the late Brigadier-General Amah, who went to glory on June 7, 2020 and his remains interred on November 14, 2020.
