Okwurusi Community Supports Operation Sting
…Launches Security Committee
Security they say is everybody’s business it’s against this backdrop that the people of Okwurusi Community in Obio/Akpor local Government Area of Rivers State have demonstrated their readiness to support the newly inaugurated security architecture of Rivers State Government.
His Royal Highness, Eze Morgan Nwenenda Amadi, Eze Okporo Okwurusi Council disclosed that the community has decided to support Governor’s Operation Sting programme by supporting the Nigeria Police.
He said that in keeping with the directive of Governor Nyesom Wike, the community has resolved to set up a committee that will refurbish the abandoned pick-up vans, communication gadgets and other equipment at Rumuodara Police Station.
Inaugurating the 5 man Committee, he enjoined them to ensure that their simple but tasking job is executed within three weeks and expressed hope that the security equipments would be properly fixed for effective policing.
Stressing the need to improve the security architecture of the community, Eze Morgan lauded them for making themselves available for the job.
Responding,the chairman of the committee, Chief Ambassador John Best thanked the community people for the trust reposed on them and promised to deliver on their mandate.
