The President and Governing Council Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr. Ike Neliaku has commended the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Dame Hon. Anengi Barasua Claude-Wilcox for utilizing the public relation tools of case analysis, stakeholders engagement and all inclusive governance in sustaining peace in the local government area.

Dr. Neliaku who made the commendation at the Annual General Meeting of NIPR, Rivers State Chapter held in Port Harcourt noted that synergy between the Government, traditional institutions and other stakeholders was the key to fast track sustainable development in the Niger Delta, while admonishing leaders in the region to borrow a leaf from the Bonny example.

Earlier, the Bonny LGA Boss while rendering her submissions during the panel session in the Conference said although she had once faced gender related challenges as Chief Executive of the LGA, she was able to get over it because she studied the environment, took critical note of its peculiarity and resolved not to work alone, which made her enlist stakeholders including the traditional institution, which was why the government was able to jointly tackle insecurity and deliver people oriented projects and programmes.

More praises were showered on the Bonny Council Chairman by a past President of the NIPR, Amaopusenibo Sofiri Bobo Brown, and the immediate past Chairman of the Institute, Pastor Paulinus Nsirim, who both expressed satisfaction in her performance in office, urging her to keep the flag flying, just as an award of Excellence in Leadership was thereafter bestowed on her by the Chapter.
